Fact or Fiction
After deciding to write Mary's story, I created a timeline of her life, incorporating the births and deaths of all the extended family members during her life span. I then added the dates and locations of major events that she would have been impacted by. This list became the backbone of the novel. I created another list of Mary's life events that we had family stories about. I started with those and wrote down what I had heard from my dad and cousins. Those parts are facts. I then pondered about what other events would have been important in Mary's life. I researched books and interviewed people to discover what would have happened and wrote about it. Those parts are fiction. Can you guess which parts are which?

The Story begins
The story begins with the account of Paddy's death and burial. One night about a week after I had the idea to write Mary's story, I couldn't sleep. Arden had been on a long business trip and had just returned home. Nick and he were asleep and I was restless. It was after midnight and I had the thought, what would Mary have felt like the night after Paddy's burial. The house would be quiet like my house was and loved ones would be asleep. I went to my computer and just began writing. It was really incredible. I wept as I wrote. It took me a few days to share the account with anyone and I was amazed, they wept too. That is when I thought, I could do this. Now after four years of effort, the book is finished. I hope that you enjoy it.

Marketing and Sales efforts
In the past few days, the website content has been added to, this blog organized, and messages sent out on Facebook. My next project is to get the e-book version linked on the website so that it can be sold and downloaded. Lots of new things to learn how to do. This has been exciting.

Photo Gallery on website
I have uploaded the pictures that are featured in the book to the website except for the illustrations that my sister Rosie did. I will have to try and figure out why they didn't come through correctly yet. Here is a sample. It is the 50th wedding anniversary photograph taken in Ballyloskey in 1919. I have all the names if someone is interested. E-mail me directly at egremmert@comcast.net.
